Concerts with some of the finest artists in Jazz today

Each concert will be 30 minutes (approx) and will be followed by a Q&A session with the performing artist(s).

The concerts will be live on Zoom. We have done all we can to achieve the best possible audio experience but we can only work within the bounds of the technology available at present. We advise using headphones.

ADVANCE BOOKING ESSENTIAL

Booking closes 30 minutes before the start of concert to allow time to process payments and send out the meeting ID and password. With the increased amount of traffic in cyberspace at this time some replies are being delayed. To ensure that you receive your meeting ID and password in time please book as far in advance as possible. The meeting ID will be sent to you approximately 1 hour before the concert starts.

Francesco Petreni - percussion, Andrea Mucciarelli - guitar, Ferruccio Spinetti - double bass

Drummer, percussionist and composer, Francesco Petreni has played with many musicians, among whom are Marc Johnson, Jonny Griffin, Palle Danielsson, Mal Waldron, Eddie Henderson, Enrico Rava, Tony Scott, Michael Blake, Avishai Cohen.
He is on more than seventy recordings also with Enrico Pieranunzi trio, Mark Turner, David Binney, Larry Grenadier, Eddie Wied, Paolo Fresu, Stefano Bollani, Kim Prevost, Bill Solley,
and brasilian music with Marisa Monte, Ivan Lins, Chico Buarque, Hamilton De Holanda, Vanessa Da Mata, Maria Gadu etc, participating in International Festivals around the world including concerts in Cuba and Brazil.

Andrea Mucciarelli plays in a duo with singer/songwriter Nada Malanima that has played in many concerts around Italy and for Italian radio and tv shows. He is part of the prestigious Barga Jazz Ensemble directed by M° Bruno Tommaso. He also plays with the Matteo Addabbo Organ trio since 2014, recording and travelling around Europe.

Ferruccio Spinetti has been part of Avion Travel, a very important and famous italian ensemble, since 1990,. He has also played with Rita Marcotulli, Mal Waldron, Arto Lindsay, Fabrizio Bosso, Paolo Fresu, Ivan Lins (he is featured on the album "Inventario" and was nominated for 2014 Latin Grammy Award), Marisa Monte, Chico Buarque, Vanessa Da Mata etc.  Since 2004 he played in the Stefano Bollani quintet, and with Petra Magoni in Musica Nuda performing more than 1500 concerts around the world and recording 11 CDs.

Scott Edmunds, solo piano

Originally from Northeast Pennsylvania, Scott Edmunds is an active pianist, composer, and educator.  Scott has had opportunities to perform with many influential musicians in the jazz genre, such as Tim Warfield Jr., Wycliffe Gordon, Marshall Gilkes, Carla Cook, and Dick Oatts, as well as with acclaimed musicians on the European scene such as Perico Sambeat.  Scott has similarly had opportunities to perform at festivals and venues such as The Kimmel Center, Chris's Jazz Café, and South Jazz Club in Philadelphia; Fat Cat, Rockwood Music Hall, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola and The Appel Room at Lincoln Center in New York City; and Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona, Spain.

Jim Ridl - piano

Jim Ridl is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher residing in the New York City area. He performs internationally with the Jim Ridl Trio and Quartet, the Dave Liebman Big Band, the Mingus Big Band, Ximo Tebar’s IVAM Jazz Ensemble of Spain, and the Tim Horner Quintet.

Jim’s tenure with jazz guitar legend Pat Martino received many critically acclaimed reviews of performances around the world and produced 3 outstanding recordings: Interchange, Night Wings and The Maker.

Additionally, Jim has performed and/or recorded with Randy Brecker, Marc Johnson, James Moody, Slide Hampton, Clark Terry, Mickey Roker, Billy Hart, Mark Murphy, Ravi Coltrane, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, Bill Stewart, Denis DiBlasio, Rich Matteson, Marko Marcinko, Tim Horner, Ralph Bowen, Donny McCaslin, Mark Walker, Michael Pedicin, Jean Michel Pilc, Dick and Ted Nash, Ari Hoenig, Jimmy Bruno, Tim Warfield, Terrell Stafford, Vic Juris, Paul Nash, Carla Cook, Francois Moutin, Bruce Williamson, Matt Wilson, Sherman Ferguson, Tyrone Brown,…

Commissions as a composer/arranger have included the BMI New York Jazz Composers Orchestra, the Denver Symphony Orchestra, the Lamont School of Music Chamber Orchestra, the Singing Patriots of Germantown Academy, the Manor Singers, the Off-Broadstreet Theatre, soprano Katja Rothfuss, and St. Andrew’s Church of Trenton.

In addition to his work with the New York Jazz Workshop Jim has maintained a private piano studio for over 3 decades and currently teaches adjunct jazz piano at the City College of New York. He has conducted piano master classes at the University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA), Metropolitan State College (Denver, CO), and West Chester University (West Chester, PA).

Jim was the Art Tatum Scholarship Artist in Residence at the University of Toledo (Ohio) where he taught master classes and performed solo piano concerts.

 Jim was raised on a farm and ranch in North Dakota, and discovered his love for piano and jazz at an early age. He attended college at the University of Colorado at Denver, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Scoring and Arranging, and was awarded its Student Achievement Award for composing “Ocean Sojourn,” an orchestral tone poem which he performed with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, James Setapen, conducting. He is listed in the Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities. In Denver, Jim began his professional career performing and touring with local and nationally recognised musicians, including the Grammy-nominated vocal jazz group, Rare Silk.

Jeb Patton - solo piano

Described as both a “young phenom…on piano” and an “absolute great,” Jeb Patton has earned a well-regarded reputation in the international jazz community. The multi-talented Patton is known as a “player of great expression” and “not one to tread the predictable,” as well as a “simpatico accompanist” for The Heath Brothers, an “innovative” arranger, and one who “cuts…[an] impressive swath on his composition, ‘Hanna’s Mood,'” a tribute to his late teacher, Sir Roland Hanna.

Studying under Sir Roland Hanna and Jimmy Heath, Jeb earned his Master of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in 1997 from the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, City University of New York, where he also received the Louis Armstrong Award for composition from the ASCAP Foundation.

Since graduating, Jeb has toured throughout the United States and abroad with the Heath Brothers and with Jimmy Heath’s Generations Quintet, performing in theatres, festivals, concert halls, colleges, and clubs. Since moving to New York in 1996, Jeb has also performed with Charles McPherson, The Jimmy Heath Big Band, The Dizzy Gillspie Alumni Big Band, The Dizzy Gillespie All Stars, George Coleman, the Faddis/Hampton/Heath Sextet, James Moody, Jeremy Pelt, Michael Mossman, Lewis Nash, Antonio Hart, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, Barbara Cook, Jessye Norman, Frank Wess, Dmitry Baevsky, Grant Stewart, Mike Karn, Joe Magnarelli, Lew Tabackin, Jerry Weldon, Sachal Vasandani, Pete Van Nostrand, Roberta Gambarini, Rodney Green, David Wong, Winard Harper, Diego Urcola, Peter and Will Anderson, Willie Jones III, Marlene Verplank, as well as with his own trio.
