Whole Group Workshops

Pulse

We begin the day with pulse training - developing a firm foundation sense of pulse, a stronger sense of timing, and gaining trust in silence and spaces.

Vocal Body Breath

The workshop explores the use of energy and the voice, and fine tuning body and mind coordination within a musical context. Using song material from all around the world we work at enhancing the quality of our listening skills and the sounds we produce.

Ensemble/Combo Session

Students are formed into1 to 3 different ensembles determined by the total number of students that will attend the course. During this session the ensembles will create and develop pieces under the guidance of bassist/composer Arnie Somogyi, for public performance on Sunday April 19th at 13.30h at Pizza Express Jazz Club.

Master - Class Session

Hosted by Don Braden, Champian Fulton, Joris Teepe and  Mathew Holmes these sessions will combine listening and playing. Some of the sudents on the course will be asked to play - if they choose and are happy to do so. Feedback and constructive advice will be given by the tutors. The session is staged in master-class format so that all participants can listen and benefit from the feedback and the experience. The atmosphere is friendly and non-judgemental while approaching musical issue in a serious manner.
