Pol Olmedes trumpet

Pol Omedes Casacuberta was born in Barcelona in 1989.

 During his career, he has performed and recorded with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Lee Konitz, Daniel Cacija, Martin Gjakonovski, Christian Salfellner, Claus Raible, Giorgos Antoniou, Renato Chicco, David Mengual, Horacio Fumero, Lluc Casares, and Judit Neddermann. He has also collaborated with artists from other musical genres, including Earl Thomas, Bitty McLean, Dave Barker, and the vocalists of The Pioneers, among many others.

As a leader, he has released four albums and has an extensive discography as a sideman. He has performed his works at numerous festivals and clubs, receiving excellent reviews from both the industry and the specialized press. He is currently presenting his new album Tasty Time (The Changes, 2024), recognized by critics from Enderrock magazine as one of the 10 best jazz albums of 2024. Among his most recent accolades, he has also been awarded the Young Talent Prize (2020) by the Catalan Association of Jazz and Modern Music Musicians (AMJM). 

In addition to his concert activity, he has taught jazz trumpet and improvisation at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears (2016–2019) and has been a faculty member at the Conservatori Superior de Música Manuel Castillo de Sevilla since February 2019.

In 2008, he graduated from the Conservatori Municipal de Barcelona in classical trumpet with honors and, that same year, was admitted to the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), where he earned his degree in jazz trumpet in 2012. The following year, he moved to Graz, Austria, to pursue a master’s degree in jazz trumpet at the prestigious Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz (KUG), studying under renowned professors such as Jim Rotondi, Tobias Weidinger, Michael Abene, Ed Neumeister, and Renato Chicco, among many others.
